I wish I bought…

Have you ever had a kick me moment in life when it comes to insurance? Ever thought, I wish I had bought this or I wish I had more coverage. That is exactly what happened to me a few weeks ago on Father’s Day. Played 18 holes with my brother and son. Then decided to mow the back yard before getting comfortable on the sofa and watching the US Open. I got stung by a wasp and still mowed the yard. Halfway thru mowing the yard, I started to not feel well and tried to cool off with the hose, that did not work. I rang the front door for son to let me in (he is 14 and was only one home). I do not remember anything after that, he said he let me in and I walked in and fell flat on my face. Broke my nose, ended up with 6 stiches and thank God, no damage to my teeth or head. He called 911 and got taken to the ER.

So, one of the companies we represent, Assurity Life, has an Accident Insurance policy. I have talked about it before, but it is the ONE insurance I do not have on our family. I had been putting it off. Always thinking, I am good, nothing will happen to me.

Based on what happened to me, here is what I would have received if I had this policy. Premium for my family would be $53.41 a month. This would have definitely helped with my deductible. Here is what would I have received in benefits. I still have to have nose surgery to fix my nose.

Initial accident Treatment $200
Ambulance $400
Short-Stay Observation Unit $100
X-Ray $60
Diagnostic Exam $200
Follow-Up Treatment $100
Laceration $200
Broken Nose $450
Hospital Observation $1,000
Outpatient Surgery $500
Total
$3,210
