The Bloch Agency was founded in 1996 and has been recognized as a premier disability brokerage agency representing a large number of quality individual and group long term disability carriers. We believe disability insurance is unique and important to the financial welfare of an individual and family. Therefore, disability insurance has been our primary focus as we feel only an agency with specialized expertise can handle the complexities of this type of risk. Our staff has nearly 50 years of collective experience in the disability insurance field. BrokerWorld, a major insurance industry magazine, recently recognized our agency in an article titled, ‘Focus on The Bloch Agency- Multi-Generation Agencies.’ The Bloch Agency partnered with International Specialty Insurance (ISI) to develop the Family ValueGuard product line.

Ken Bloch Sr., CLU

KenIt is of no surprise Ken is regarded as an industry leader and expert that is continuously offering the disability insurance market innovative solutions. He has more than 40 years of experience specifically dedicated to the Individual Disability Insurance (IDI) product. Ken is the founder of The Bloch Agency, Inc. and also one of the founding partners of The Plus Group, the nation’s premier disability insurance marketing organization. Ken currently participates on several field advisory committees for major disability income insurance companies developing new “state of the art” disability income insurance products and streamlined underwriting procedures. He continues to be an active member of The Plus Group, NAIFA (Charlotte Association of Insurance and Financial advisors) and the Charlotte Chapter SFSP. While maintaining his membership with these organizations he has served and continues to hold leadership positions. Throughout these years he has been recognized for outstanding service by more than one of these organizations. He has been published in Life Insurance Selling, Broker World, BenefitsPro and The Charlotte Observer, Keynote speaker at Disability Income Officers Roundtable, NAIFA – 2012/2013 Board of Directors and 2007 Financial Advisor of the Year.

 

Ken Bloch, Jr. (Director of Sales)

kenjr2In 1998 Ken, Jr. decided to join the agency and it became clear after a few months he was a great resource to brokers and instrumental in helping them succeed. He manages the sales process and is responsible for creating and implementing new marketing strategies. Ken attends and represents our agency at all regional and local trade shows associated with the financial industry. He is a member of NAIFA and has attended several of the ‘Top 10 Agency’ meetings in the past. Ken speaks with our brokers on a daily basis and assists them with in-force business issues as well as helping them create more business opportunities. His goal is to help brokers increase their DI insurance knowledge in order to better serve their clients and in turn feel good about the product.

Matt Bloch (Director of Operations)

MattWhen Matt joined the agency in 1999 he started off just like everyone else, doing a little bit of everything, a lot of the time. It didn’t take long to notice his ability to observe and process all of the details associated with brokerage contracts and compliance. Matt is not only responsible for all compliance-related activities but also assists brokers in customizing Individual Disability Insurance (IDI), Short Term and Long Term Group plans best suited for their client’s needs. His tenure of experience and comprehension of what is available within the disability insurance market has allowed him to serve the client’s best interest when consulting our brokers. He is a member of NAIFA and is involved with the specific promoting of the ValueGuard product line.

Mitch Connella (New Business Analyst)

employee1Mitch joined our agency after 13 years of case management experience in the life insurance market. His case management expertise made transitioning into the Individual Disability Insurance (IDI) market a smooth one. Mitch’s attention to detail and sense of urgency make the underwriting process a positive experience for our brokers. He works hard to make certain business submitted is managed and processed to everyone’s benefit.

Shannan McLaughlin (GSI and In Force Specialist)

employee2Shannan has been with the agency for over 5 years. She handles the processing of guarantee issue cases as well as service in-force business as needed. When it comes to servicing our clients Shannan believes anything less than 100% effort is unacceptable.
